Making our city greener
A new program has been launched to make our city a greener place! This program offers mature trees at a very reasonable cost to residents who do not have trees in front of their homes.
Eligibility requirements:
- One tree per residence, with a possibility of two trees for residences located on a street corner;
- There can be no existing trees on the land in front of the home;
- There must be sufficient space to plant the tree and to ensure it has enough space to grow;
- A $50 fee must be paid by the homeowner, which corresponds to less than 30% of the cost to purchase the tree;
- The tree must only be planted on the land located in front of the house.
If your application is accepted, city officials will contact you to determine what kind of tree can be planted on your lot based on available space and the availability of tree species.The trees will be a minimum height of 8 feet.
To obtain a tree, you must fill out anapplication form by April 30, at dieppe.ca. The program is on first-come, first-served basis, so hurry and send in your request.
