Lower speed limits near schools
DIEPPE, N.B. — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise residents that signage regarding lower speed limits is being installed near certain schools in the municipality.
This measure intends to make school zones safer for our children.
Effective May 1, the speed limit for vehicles in school zones will be lowered to 30 km/h during times when children are present at the school. This change is based on Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) guidelines and the Motor Vehicle Act.
The speed limit will be lowered at the following locations:
- École Sainte-Thérèse: Ste-Thérèse, Gould and Notre-Dame Streets;
- Lou MacNarin School: Gauvin Road;
- École Anna-Malenfant: Centrale Street;
- École Amirault: Melanson Road.
Codiac RCMP advise that they will be enforcing the new speed limits and encourage all motorists to drive with care in school zones.
