Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre to switch to Lifesaving Society programs
The Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre wishes to inform its clients that the Canadian Red Cross is winding down its swim and lifeguarding programming to focus more on humanitarian demands in other areas, such as disaster and pandemic response, opioid harm reduction and caregiving for seniors.
The Canadian Red Cross is encouraging its water safety training partners to transition to Lifesaving Society Canada programs. The Dieppe Aquatic and Sports Centre will be switching to the Swim for Life program over the summer. Here are the equivalences:
- Duck becomes Parent and Tot 1
- Sea Turtle becomes Parent and Tot 2
- Sea Otter becomes Parent and Tot 3
- Salamander becomes Preschool 1
- Sunfish becomes Preschool 2
- Crocodile becomes Preschool 3
- Whale becomes Preschool 4
- Level 1 becomes Swimmer 1
- Level 2 becomes Swimmer 2
- Level 3 becomes Swimmer 3
- Level 4 becomes Swimmer 4
- Level 5 becomes Swimmer 5
- Level 6 becomes Swimmer 6
- Level 7 becomes Swimmer 7 - Rookie Patrol
- Level 8 becomes Swimmer 8 - Ranger Patrol
- Level 9 becomes Swimmer 9 - Star Patrol
- Level 10 becomes Swimmer 10 - Bronze Star
