Community Call: Seeking Antique Furniture
The Historic Doiron House will open its doors in June and promises to provide an exceptional visitor experience.
To complete the replication of decorative items from the period when Joseph Doiron and his descendants lived in the house, the City of Dieppe is asking for the public’s help to procure certain pieces of antique furniture and artifacts, dated between 1840 and 1910. They must be in good condition and fit for public display throughout the house. More specifically, we are looking for the following items (see pictures for reference):
- Small plant tables
- Small coffee tables
- Chairs
- Cast iron cauldron
- Butter churn
- Baby cradle
- Spinning wheel
- Barrel
- Milk can
If you have one or several of these items and would like to donate them to help preserve the collective memory of Acadian heritage, please contact Sonya Babineau by March 4th at sonya.babineau@dieppe.ca or by calling 877-7831, so that we may pick up your item and give it a second life at the Doiron House.
Due to limited storage space, please note that only the items listed here will be accepted.
Thank you for your donation!
