The Stanley Cup and Frantz Jean Coming to Dieppe

DIEPPE, NB — The Stanley Cup and the goaltending coach for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL), Frantz Jean, will be in Dieppe on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the UNIplex located at 450 College Street.
“We are very pleased to welcome Frantz Jean and the Stanley Cup to the UNIplex. It is quite an accomplishment for Mr. Jean to win the Stanley Cup two years in a row. We have a lot to be proud of with this former Dieppe resident and friend,” said Mayor Yvon Lapierre.

Lane reduction on Centrale Street

DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that there will be a lane reduction on Centrale Street, between Damien and Vanier streets, on August 18 and 19. In case of inclement weather, the work will be postponed to the following day.
This lane reduction is necessary in order to allow for work on the water and sewer system. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to plan for longer travel times while the work is being carried out.

Commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid

The City of Dieppe, in collaboration with the Dieppe Military Veterans Association, is organizing a ceremony on Sunday, August 22 at Place 1604 to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid in France.
The annual ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a military parade to pay tribute to the Canadian soldiers who died in combat during this military operation. The ceremony will be followed by a reception to be held at the Dieppe Arts and Culture Centre (331 Acadie Avenue).

Acadie Avenue Closure – Phase 2 of 2

DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that Acadie Avenue, between Thibodeau and Champlain streets, will be completely closed to traffic from Monday, August 16 into October.
This closure is necessary in order to allow for reconstruction work. Detour signs will be in place.
Note that the businesses will remain accessible.
Motorists are encouraged to plan for longer travel times while the work is being carried out.

Celebrate August 15 in Dieppe

DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe invites you to celebrate National Acadian Day this Sunday, August 15, starting at 3:30 p.m. at Rotary St-Anselme Park. The celebrations will begin with DJ Bones, followed by a traditional tintamarre on foot starting at the Arthur-J.-LeBlanc Centre at 5:55 p.m.
