Bear sighted in the Chartersville, Bourque, Melanson roads and Dieppe Boulevard

The municipality has been informed that a bear was sighted in the Chartersville, Bourque, Melanson roads and Dieppe Boulevard.
The Energy and Resource Development Department has been notified and is keeping an eye on the situation. Black bears are generally shy and usually avoid humans, but they are opportunistic feeders, and will attempt to eat anything that looks, smells or tastes like food.
Residents are kindly asked to avoid leaving garbage or food outside as much as possible.

Intermittent Closures – Chartersville Road

The City of Dieppe wishes to advise motorists that Chartersville Road, between Bahama and Thomas streets, will be intermittently closed to traffic from Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14.
These closures are necessary in order to safely carry out some road work. Detours signs will be in place.
Motorists are encouraged to plan for longer travel times while the work is being carried out.
It should be noted that businesses will remain accessible during construction.
