Codiac Transpo wishes to inform its customers that bus service will be interrupted over the next few days, due to staffing constraints arising from the current labour situation.
The following lists the routes affected. Details are provided at codiactranspo.ca:

Morning service offered by the following routes will be affected: #6 Elmwood B, #11 Whitefrost, and #14 Riverview West.

Tentative agreement reached between the City of Dieppe and the union representing its firefighters

DIEPPE, N.B. — The City of Dieppe has reached a tentative contract agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 3515 representing the city’s firefighters.
“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with the union,” said City of Dieppe chief administrative officer Marc Melanson. “Collaboration and co-operation were key elements in reaching this agreement, demonstrating the good faith on both sides of the negotiations – the employer and the union.”

Work on Olivier Street

DIEPPE (NB) — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise the motoring public that construction work will be done on Olivier Street, between Paul Street and Acadie Avenue, starting on Tuesday, May 1st for a few weeks.
One lane on Paul Street and Acadie Avenue could be closed sporadically on Tuesday, May 1st and Wednesday, May 2.

Work on Rufin Street

DIEPPE (NB) — The City of Dieppe wishes to advise the motoring public that Rufin Street will be closed to traffic between Dieppe Boulevard and Hartnett Street, on Tuesday, May 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting, to install sanitary sewer and water mains.

Passing of former mayor Clarence Cormier

Dieppe ,N.B.— It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Clarence Cormier, former councillor and mayor of Dieppe, former provincial MLA and minister of education.
Mr. Cormier was mayor of Dieppe from 1977 to 1982. Under his leadership, French became the official language of the then-town’s administration and simultaneous translation began being offered during municipal council meetings.
“Mr. Cormier’s contribution was integral to the development of Dieppe’s francophone identity,”...
