- The City of Dieppe has a population of more than 18,000 residents.
- Dieppe’s population is made up of Francophones (75 %) and Anglophones (25 %) living together in harmony.

Economy
- The average cost of a house in Dieppe is approximately $120,000 ($10,000 less than in Moncton).
- Champlain Place, the largest shopping mall in Eastern Canada, has approximately 160 stores and services.
History
- The Town of Dieppe was founded on January 1st, 1952.
- Dieppe was born of the union of several Acadian villages over time, namely Lakeburn, Dieppe, St. Anselme, Fox Creek, Dover, and Chartersville.
- Dieppe’s first mayor was Adélard Savoie.
- In 1968, three Dieppe residents were invited to France by General de Gaulle: Adélard Savoie, Gilbert Finn and Euclide Daigle. A fourth delegate and Moncton native, Dr. Léon Richard, was also part of the group. (The oncology centre located at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital in Moncton was named after Dr. Richard.)
- The first Acadian settlers arrived on what is now Dieppe territory in 1730.
- Before being called Leger’s Corner, this community was known as French Village.
Culture
- In 1999, the event called Fureur de lire, originally developed in 1990, became the Salon du livre de Dieppe. Since then, the Salon du livre de Dieppe is held each fall in our community.
- Singer Anna Malenfant, after whom one of our school’s is named, was born in Dieppe.
