Paul Street Project
More than 9 Million Dollars for Paul Street Improvements

Mayor Jean LeBlanc and the Director of the Public Works and Engineering Department, Jacques LeBlanc, have unveiled details concerning the 10 million dollar improvements for Paul Street. This constitutes the most important road construction project for the municipality in 2010.
“I’m very happy to be able to take part in this long-awaited announcement of Phase 1 of the Paul Street construction. We have worked on this file for numerous years and it is one of the most important road infrastructure projects in Dieppe’s history. This street is one of our busiest, handling up to 30,000 cars a day," said Mayor Jean LeBlanc.
Reconstruction work of Phase 1 will occur between Route 15 and Sunset Street. Paul Street will be widened, the underground municipal structure will be replaced, dedicated lanes will be added, a new main entrance to Champlain Mall will be created, and a sidewalk and multiuse path will be developed to allow residents to benefit from active living.
The City of Dieppe wants clean and secure infrastructures that are in good shape and that the residents can use, as well as the numerous people visiting every year.
This project will be funded by three main sources, namely the City of Dieppe, the Federal Gas Tax Fund and the New Brunswick Department of Transportation.
“The transformation of Paul Street is bound to greatly improve traffic and the security of the drivers on one of our major roads. Also, the change will make this street more secure for pedestrians and a more welcoming place by adding trees, flowers and greenery," added Mr. LeBlanc.
Most of the work will be completed by 2010, but the few final touches will be done in 2011, namely the last layer of asphalt and the addition of trees, flowers and other elements to embellish the street.
